Southern California Campus Timeline (2008-2018)

2008

  • Los Angeles becomes TCSPP’s 1st campus outside of IL; classes officially begin on September 2, 2008 in Clinical Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, and VO Psychology.
  • California Graduate Institute (CGI) becomes a part of TSCPP, along with the Westwood and Irvine Counseling Centers and campuses.

2009

  • TCS affiliates with the Santa Barbara Graduate Institute (SBGI) with a teach-out through TCSPP.
  • TCSPP celebrates its 30th Anniversary
  • TCSPP institutes the Engaged Practitioner Model of Education.
  • Applied Clinical Psychology, Clinical Forensic Psychology, and Marital & Family Therapy programs begin.

2010

  • Michele Nealon, Psy. D is appointed TCSPP’s 8th President
  • TCSPP incorporates in CA; headquarters move to LA.
  • First SoCal Commencement Ceremony Takes place.
  • Business Psychology program begins.

2011

  • TCSPP receives WSCUC Initial Accreditation (5 years)
  • Forensic Training Institute & ConCISE launched.
  • Irvine Campus hosts Latino Mental Health Conference.
  • Somatic Psychology program begins.

2012

  • Mental Health Parity Hearing features former Congressman / health advocate, Patrick J. Kennedy.
  • Paperless admission process is introduced.
  • Dept. of Education approves WSCUC as TCSPP’s primary accrediting agency.
  • Organizational Leader program begins.

2013

  • LA Campus recognized on President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.
  • LA Campus earns CPA’s Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award.
  • National Service Month in launched.

2014

  • 1st student exchange with CETYS University and Irvine Campus.
  • TCSPP celebrates 35th Anniversary
  • Irvine Campus expands.

2015

  • TCSPP implements 5-year Strategic Plan.
  • Westwood Campus closes and West LA Counseling Center moves to its current location.
  • Veterans Homelessness Symposium takes place.
  • Master of Public Health program begins.

2016

  • Agreements signed with Ventura & LA Community College Districts; students can finish BAs at TCSPP.
  • TCSPP hosts Women’s Collaborative Conf. with Skid Row organizations.

2017

  • San Diego Campus Opens
  • Inaugural Mental Health Heroes Awards held.
  • TCSPP receives WSCUC Reaffirmation of Accreditation (10 years).
  • BA Psychology program begins.

2018

  • LA’s Clinical Psy. D. Program is APA-accredited (10 years).
  • TCSPP-CA celebrates 10-Year Anniversary.
