Interwoven Community Counseling Center & The Forensic Center

Interwoven Community Counseling Center and The Chicago School Forensic Center are both available at our Chicago Campus. Interwoven provides affordable, high-quality psychological services to the general community, and The Forensic Center offers forensically focused mental health services for persons court-ordered to receive psychological treatment or evaluation.

By establishing community mental health services in the heart of our campus, we bring to life our engaged practitioner model of education. The Centers give students the opportunity to utilize what they have learned in the classroom in real-world situations, providing much-needed services to diverse communities.

Student and Faculty Run

Each year, Interwoven and The Forensic Center select up to 10 students for training placements through a competitive application process. Master’s and doctoral students enrolled in any of our clinical programs are eligible to apply. Student trainees provide about 90 percent of all our services while under intensive clinical supervision. Faculty also serve as practitioners and clinical supervisors in our centers; their expertise ensures a commitment to evidence-based practice and hands-on learning that integrates theory and practice. Community Impact

While we are located on campus, our efforts reach deeply into the community. We serve less-privileged populations that have long experienced barriers to high-quality mental health services. As an Illinois-authorized Medicaid provider, we provide services with reduced fees for persons without insurance. We never refuse anyone who is unable to pay for services. In addition to individual therapy, psychological evaluations, couples and family therapy, and wellness presentations, students can participate in several government-funded and community-based initiatives on- or off-site.
