Sally Hage

Dr. Sally M. Hage is a Professor in the Clinical Psychology Program at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington, DC. She earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Divinity from the University of Notre Dame. She completed her predoctoral internship at the University of Minnesota's Counseling and Psychological Services Center. Dr. Hage has held faculty positions at Springfield College, the University at Albany, SUNY, and Columbia University.

A licensed psychologist, Dr. Hage brings more than 20 years of experience providing psychotherapy and clinical supervision. She maintains a private practice serving culturally diverse youth, adults, and couples and has extensive experience with individual, couples, and group therapy. Her clinical and scholarly work is grounded in a commitment to culturally responsive practice, prevention, health promotion, and social justice.

Dr. Hage's scholarship focuses on prevention, social justice, health promotion, ethics, group work, youth development, and multicultural training. Her research has examined trauma prevention and coping, mindfulness, social justice, and multicultural education and training. She is the founding editor of the Journal of Prevention and Health Promotion (SAGE) and the author of two books, including Best Practices in Prevention (SAGE) and An Ounce of Prevention: Evidence-Based Prevention for Counseling and Psychology (Cambridge University Press). She has published numerous articles and chapters on resilience, prevention, trauma, social justice interventions and training, spirituality and counseling, and clinical supervision.

Dr. Hage was elected a Fellow of the American Psychological Association in 2014 and is the recipient of the APA Society of Counseling Psychology Prevention Section Lifetime Achievement Award. Her career reflects a longstanding commitment to advancing prevention, culturally responsive psychological practice, and social justice across clinical, academic, and community settings.
