Biography
Shavonne J. Moore-Lobban, PhD, ABPP, is a board-certified counseling psychologist with extensive experience in clinical practice, higher education, and leadership across several organizations. She currently serves as Assistant Dean in the College of Professional Psychology at The Chicago School. She is also the Director of The Chicago School's APA-Accredited internship program, the Mid Atlantic Internship Consortium.
Dr. Moore-Lobban completed her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Purdue University, her internship at Boston University School of Medicine's Center for Multicultural Training in Psychology, and her fellowship at the Boston Veterans Affairs (VA) Healthcare System in affiliation with Harvard Medical School's Department of Psychiatry. She is licensed to practice psychology in the District of Columbia and Maryland. Additionally, Dr. Moore-Lobban received her board certification in Counseling Psychology from the American Board of Professional Psychology.
Dr. Moore-Lobban's professional expertise is in leadership, training, consultation, and mentoring. She is actively involved in the American Psychological Association (APA), where she has chaired numerous committees, task forces, and workgroups. She is a past Chair of APA's Board for the Advancement of Psychology in the Public Interest (BAPPI), and a Past President of APA's Division 17 (the Society of Counseling Psychology).
Dr. Moore-Lobban has clinical expertise in trauma (sexual trauma, domestic violence, racial trauma, and community violence) and in providing services to marginalized communities. She has developed a curriculum on sexual and interpersonal assaults, has been called to participate in state government efforts to reduce the demand for sexual exploitation, and provided support services to victims of the Boston Marathon Bombing federal court proceedings. She has delivered numerous presentations and workshops and has several publications, including two books.
