Ishmael Tagoe

Dr. Ishmael Tagoe, PhD, PA-C, CHES, is an Assistant Professor in the Master of Public Health program at The Chicago School and a Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) public health scholar whose work integrates clinical medicine, behavioral health, public health leadership, and higher education. Drawing from extensive experience across healthcare systems, community health, and academic practice, Dr. Tagoe brings a multidisciplinary and practice-informed perspective to teaching, mentorship, and scholarship. He teaches courses in healthcare ethics, behavioral health, health policy, program planning and evaluation, and health communication, with a strong emphasis on critical thinking, evidence-based practice, health equity, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Dr. Tagoe has also contributed to the development and implementation of state and federally funded public health initiatives and grants focused on community health improvement, health promotion, and health disparities. His research and professional interests focus on health disparities, HIV prevention, minority health, behavioral and mental health, healthcare policy, and the integration of emerging technologies and artificial intelligence into healthcare and public health education.
