The Chicago School is committed to enrolling a diverse and outstanding class; as such we offer several scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $10,000 for the upcoming academic year. In support of this effort, the following scholarships are awarded based on a variety of criteria including, but not limited, to financial need, academic excellence, mission-based, and community involvement and service.
Scholarships
In addition to meeting the minimum individual scholarship criteria outlined below, awards are limited and based on a holistic review of the candidate’s application. Eligibility and application procedures vary by scholarship, please review the opportunities below for specific requirements.
Incoming new students will be considered for a Dean’s Scholarship based on their past dedication and anticipated future contributions to service, academic excellence, and The Chicago School. To be eligible for consideration applicants must fulfill the following criteria:
- Be a new incoming student
- Demonstrate prior service contributions, academic excellence, and achievements
Award Amount: up to $5,000 (non-renewable)
Note:
The Dean’s Scholarship may not be combined with the Merit Scholarship, President’s Scholarship, or Fellowship in Clinical Psychopharmacology. Recipients of the Dean’s Scholarship become eligible for Special Tuition Rates once all scholarship funds have been awarded.
The Global Impact Scholarship is awarded to international students following committee review of the submission requirements. Applicants are required to share through video or essay format about their journey from their home country to The Chicago School and how their education will help them impact the field of psychology or behavioral health sciences on a global scale. To be eligible for consideration, applicants must be new or returning international students and enrolled in an on-campus program in the fall semester and have maintained their status. The Global Leaders Scholarship is an award available to TCSPP international students based on a required submission. The submission should share their experiences at TCSPP, describe how TCSPP has impacted their professional development, and discuss their plans for serving as a global leader in their profession. To be eligible for consideration, applicants must be a returning international students who studied with TCSPP at least one year, enrolled in an on-campus program in the fall semester of that year, and have maintained their status. Incoming new students will be considered for a Merit Scholarship based on their excellent academic achievement. To be eligible for consideration applicants must be applying to our on-campus programs and fulfill the following criteria:
- Be a new incoming student
- Have a cumulative GPA of 4.0 or a combined GRE score of 1300 (test taken prior to August 1, 2011), or a combined GRE score of 314 (test taken on or after August 1, 2011)
Award Amount: up to $10,000 (Renewable up to three years for full-time five-year degree programs and up to two years for full-time programs that are four or less years in length)

The Merit Scholarship may not be combined with the Dean’s Scholarship, President’s Scholarship, or Fellowship in Clinical Psychopharmacology. Recipients of the Merit Scholarship become eligible for Special Tuition Rates once all scholarship funds have been awarded.
Incoming new students will be considered for a President’s Scholarship based on their academic promise and dedication to The Chicago School Mission – commitment to diversity and community service. To be eligible for consideration applicants must fulfill the following criteria:
- Be a new incoming student
- Have a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.30 or higher for post-bachelor’s programs
- Have a graduate GPA of 3.5 or higher for post-master’s programs
Award Amount: up to $7,000 (Non-renewable)

The President’s Scholarship may not be combined with the Dean’s Scholarship, Merit Scholarship, or Fellowship in Clinical Psychopharmacology. Recipients of the President’s Scholarship become eligible for Special Tuition Rates once all scholarship funds have been awarded.
Fellowships
The Chicago School fellowships are positions in which students will contribute to the academic community in and outside of the classroom. Fellowships are competitive and require an application process. Fellowship awards are applied directly to the student’s account, and dispersed over the course of the academic year, and cannot exceed the student’s cost of attendance as defined by Title IV regulations.
Special Tuition Rates
The Chicago School offers the following institutional reduced tuition rates:
Alumni who have earned a TCSPP bachelor’s degree, terminal master’s degree, terminal education specialist degree, or terminal doctoral degree may be eligible for the Alumni Tuition Rate. The Alumni Tuition Rate is not available to students who earn a nested master’s degree from TCSPP while enrolled in an applicable doctoral program.
The Alumni Tuition Rate for each eligible degree level for academic year 2023-2024:
- M.A./M.S. = $1,026
- Ed.S = $1,044
- Psy.D./Ph.D./Ed.D. = $1,277
The Alumni Tuition Rate is determined for each fiscal year and remains in effect for that year. The rate applies to future terms only and is not retroactive to current or prior terms. Changes in the Alumni Tuition Rate will be closely tied to any subsequent change in TCSPP’s published tuition rates, and the rate does not apply to institutional fees or other charges. Applicants must meet the admission requirements of the desired program and must remain in academic and financial aid good standing, meeting all Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements, to retain the rate. A student may be required to resubmit documentation annually.
Note: The Alumni Tuition Rate cannot be combined with other Special Tuition Rates. Federal Work Study (FWS), College Work Study (CWS), volunteer, and positions secured by students to complete their degree requirements (e.g., practicum or internship experience) are not considered qualifying positions for Special Tuition Rates.
The International Student Tuition Rate is available to students who are in non-immigrant statuses within or outside the United States and are ineligible for U.S. Federal Financial Aid. The International Student Rate is not available to permanent residents or eligible non-citizens in the U.S.

The K-12 School Personnel Tuition Rate has been established to support K-12 teachers and staff working in an educational district that want to enroll in a program beginning Spring 2018.
The K-12 School Personnel Tuition Rate for each degree level for academic year 2023-2024:

- Ed.S = $1253
- Psy.D./Ph.D./Ed.D. = $1,533
The K-12 School Personnel Tuition Rate is determined each year along with the University’s other published tuition rates and remains in effect for that year. The rate applies to future terms only and is not retroactive to current or prior terms. Changes in the K-12 School Personnel Tuition Rate will be closely tied to any subsequent change in TCSPP’s published tuition rates, and the rate does not apply to institutional fees or other charges. Applicants must meet the admission requirements of the desired program and must remain in academic and financial aid good standing, meeting all Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements, to retain the rate.

A student employed as federal, state, or local law enforcement officer may be eligible for the Law Enforcement Tuition Rate. The rate has been established to support individuals who have dedicated their careers to public safety and service.
The Law Enforcement Tuition Rate for each degree level for academic year 2023-2024:
- Bachelors = $464
- M.A./M.S. = $1,231
- Ed.S = $1,253
- D./Ph.D./Ed.D. = $1,533
A student should identify membership to one of the aforementioned categories at the time of application. The rate is applied to future terms only and is not retroactive for current or prior terms. The applicant must submit a copy of a current ID and one of the following: a copy of a most recent earning statement or pay stub, a statement from the student’s commander or chief on official letterhead, or a statement from human resources attesting to current employment and position. A student may be required to resubmit documentation annually.
The Law Enforcement Tuition Rate is determined for each fiscal year and remains in effect for that year. The rate applies to future terms only and is not retroactive to current or prior terms. Changes in the Law Enforcement Tuition Rate will be closely tied to any subsequent change in TCSPP’s published tuition rates, and the rate does not apply to institutional fees or other charges. Applicants must meet the admission requirements of the desired program and must remain in academic and financial aid good standing, meeting all Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements, to retain the rate. A student may be required to resubmit documentation annually.

The Mental and Behavioral Health Professionals Tuition Rate has been established to support mental and behavioral health professionals who enroll in a new degree program beginning Fall 2014 or thereafter who aim to better serve their clients and the community through advanced education and training.
The Mental and Behavioral Health Professionals Tuition Rate for each degree level for academic year 2023-2024:

- M.A./M.S. = $1,231
- Ed.S = $1,253
- Psy.D./Ph.D./Ed.D. = $1,533

Active duty personnel of the U.S. Military or National Guard and their spouses and dependents and Veterans of the U.S. Military or National Guard and their spouses and dependents may be eligible for the Military Tuition Rate. This rate has been established to support individuals who have dedicated themselves to serving in the United States armed forces.
Military and Veteran Tuition Rate for each degree level for academic year 2023 – 2024:
- Bachelors = $464*
- M.A./M.S. = $1,231
- Ed.S = $1,253
- Psy.D./Ph.D./Ed.D. = $1,533
* The Chicago School is proud to offer a special tuition rate of $250.00 per credit hour for undergraduate programs for Active Duty Service members and Spouses/Domestic partners of Active Duty Service members. Individuals who believe they qualify for the Undergraduate Military Tuition Rate should consult with their Admissions Counselor.
Active-duty personnel: A student should identify membership to one of the aforementioned categories at the time of application. The Military Tuition Rate is applied to future terms only and is not retroactive for current or prior terms. Military personnel must submit a copy of the most recent leave and earnings statement (LES) and a statement from the commanding officer on official letterhead. A student may be required to resubmit documentation annually.
Veterans: A student should identify membership to one of the aforementioned categories at the time of application. The Veteran Tuition Rate is applied to future terms only and is not retroactive for current or prior terms. A student receiving this benefit must submit a copy of the Veteran’s DD214.
A student utilizing the GI Bill® must work closely with School Certifying Officials to make sure that all necessary documents are on file prior to the certification of enrollment with the Veterans Administration. TCSPP will certify enrollment each term unless otherwise notified. (GI Bill® is a registered trademark of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
