Reaffirmation of Accreditation Preparation 2016

Institutional Report – Spring 2016

The Chicago School began preparing for this report the day the Commission Action Status Letter was received in 2011.  There were nine components in the Institutional Report linked to four WSCUC Standards and 39 Criteria for Review (CFRs). The components address themes of continuous improvement, capacity of an institution, and educational effectiveness.

The Institutional Report (self-study) describes The Chicago School’s accreditation history, including the most recent team report and Commission action letters; a self-review of the Standards and CFRs in the context of The Chicago School’s capacity and infrastructure, strengths, weaknesses, priorities, and plans for achieving compliance with the Standards and institutional improvement. Offsite Accreditation Review – Fall 2016

On October 4, 2016, The Chicago School had its Offsite Review.  The Offsite Review was conducted by a team who reviewed the Institutional Report and accompanying documents. The institution is evaluated on its compliance with the Standards during the one day review which includes a video conference with The Chicago School’s representatives. The evaluation team shared impressions, issues for follow-up including additional questions and documents for review at the onsite visit.  The team commended the institution for its accomplishments and practices.  The team also identified six lines of inquiry that may be pursued during the Accreditation visit.  It was recommended that the accreditation visit proceed as scheduled in March 2017.

Onsite Accreditation Review – Spring 2017

In Spring 2017, the Site Team visited the D.C., Anaheim, Chicago, and Los Angeles campuses to meet with The Chicago School representatives to follow-up on preliminary findings of the Offsite review concerning both compliance and improvement. The D.C. site visit occurred on February 6, 2017. The Anaheim site visit occurred on February 23, 2017. The Chicago site visit occurred on March 2-3, 2017.  For highlights of these campus site visits, please click here. Finally, the Los Angeles site visit occurred on March 21-23, 2017.  At the conclusion of the onsite review, the Team provided six commendations and five recommendations. The final team report for of the evaluation team was presented to the CEO in May, 2017.  An institutional written response to the Team Report was forwarded to the Commission panel along with the team report and confidential recommendation.
